The
National Sporting Club is delighted to host a lunch to celebrate the
Autobiography launch of one of Chelsea and England’s best known footballers
of the 80’s & 90’s.
Having
played 230 times for Chelsea during two spells at the club, Graeme Le Saux
quickly became a fans favourite and one of best English left backs during
his playing career.
Originally signed by
John Hollins in 1987, it didn’t take long for the top clubs to notice his
talents and resulted in him becoming the most expensive defender in England
when he went to Blackburn Rovers to enjoy their halcyon seasons under Kenny
Dalglish winning the Premiership in 1995. Two years later he was back at
Stamford Bridge and enjoyed success under Gullitt and Ranieri including
winning the FA Cup and Charity Shield.
Graeme
also went on to establish himself as an international player achieving 36
caps for his country, and cemented his place in the England squad under
Glenn Hoddle’s leadership for the
1998 World Cup Finals in
France.
Following his final two
seasons as a player at Southampton, Graeme has now become an ambassador for
the ABN/AMRO private bank and a regular media pundit.
All guests will received
a signed copy of Graeme’s Autobiography ‘Left Field’, and
Graeme
will be joined on the day by friends from his Chelsea days including former
manager John Hollins who first signed him to Stamford Bridge.
