The National Sporting
Club is delighted to welcome back to its Café Royal headquarters both former
Charlton Athletic Manager Alan Curbishley to celebrate the recent launch of
his new autobiography ‘Valley of Dreams’, and one of football’s legendary
entertainers the great Tommy Docherty.
During his long standing
tenure at Charlton, Alan Curbishley became one of the longest serving
managers in the Premier League, second only to Sir Alex Ferguson, and is now
widely recognised as one of the best young managers in the game today.
Having joined Charlton in
1991, Curbishley managed to evolve the club from a league side on the brink
of financial ruin, and turn it into an established Premiership side with
serious European ambitions. Following his departure from the club after 15
years and his recent association with the England managers position, he has
now become one of the hottest properties on the market for vacant
Premiership roles.
Also on the bill will be
former Manchester United boss Tommy Docherty who will deliver one of his
legendary after lunch routines. Tommy will also be discussing how he came to
be one of the most colourful characters in the sport, and how he became such
an influential figure at many of the top clubs he was involved with
throughout his career.
Join us for what is set
to be an interesting and enjoyable afternoon’s entertainment!
